ww2dbaseThe MP 35 submachine guns were improved versions of the earlier MP 34 submachine guns, designed for simpler construction. Between 1936 and 1940, about 5,000 were made by the weapons manufacturing firm Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen; between 1940 and 1944, Junker & Ruh produced 40,000 examples. Most of the MP 35 submachine guns were assigned to Waffen-SS units, though a number of them were exported to Bolivia, Ethiopia, Spain, and Sweden.
