ww2dbaseFleet escort ship F5 was commissioned into service in 1936. In Apr 1939, she was decommissioned for the intended purpose of conversion into an anti-submarine warfare training ship. She was recommissioned in Dec 1939 and was assigned to 23rd Submarine Flotilla and then 25th Submarine Flotilla as a torpedo recovery vessel. In 1944, she was transferred to the North Sea. In Jan 1945, she was transferred to the Baltic Sea. She struck a mine in Jan 1945 in western Baltic Sea and suffered heavy damage; while being towed toward Swinemünde, Germany (now Swinoujscie, Poland), she collided with a wreck and sank.
