ww2dbaseBattleship H, a fast battleship designed to be 277.8 meters (911 feet and 5 inches) long and displacing 53,400 tons, was laid down in Slip IX of the Blohm und Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany in Jul 1939, before the outbreak of the European War. The slip was the same one that had built battleship Bismarck, launched five months prior. H was projected to be launched in mid 1941 and projected to be commissioned into service in late 1943, but work came to a halt on 30 Sep 1939 when other war demands were prioritized over battleship construction. She was ultimately canceled by the High Command of the German Navy in Nov 1941. At that time, 800 tons of steel had been installed, and an additional 3,500 tons of steel had been machined; most of the metal were recovered and redirected for other war related purposes.

Thank you for your comment Hiro.
On https://ww2db.com/ship.php?list=B, the language we used is "Projected, not actual" to indicate that the launch date is only a planned date. We did not use the "date launched" phrasing on that page.
If there is something else that causes confusion, we will be happy to look further into it. Thanks!

please fix here and on page
https://ww2db.com/ship.php?list=B
NO "date launched" for a ship not built. simply write not lauanched and on list be one line "6 class h and 3 class o" were not launched. or remove launch column and replace with " active" and these 9 not active and all nine on one page with schedule dates for all.
