ww2dbaseHerbert Norkus was a Gorch Fock-class barque built by Blohm und Voss of Hamburg, Germany. Like her sister ships, she was meant as a naval training ship. In Nov 1939, she was launched prematurely in order to make way for the construction of a submarine. Her hull sat idle in Hamburg harbor through the duration of the war, and was damaged by an aerial bomb in 1945. She was scuttled in the Kagerrak in 1947.
