ww2dbaseFleet escort ship F8 was commissioned into service in 1937. Days after the outbreak of the European War, she was transferred from the Baltic Sea to the German archipelago of Helgoland for escort and minelaying duties. In Apr 1940, she was transferred to the 25th Submarine Flotilla as a torpedo recovery vessel. From 1940 until Mar 1945, she served as a submarine training vessel. After the war, she was taken over by the United States. She was scrapped in 1950.
