ww2dbaseFleet escort ship F7 was commissioned into service in 1937. Days after the outbreak of the European War, she was transferred from the Baltic Sea to the German archipelago of Helgoland for escort and minelaying duties. Between Apr 1940 and Jun 1944, she was a torpedo recovery vessel with the 25th Submarine Flotilla. After the war, she was taken over by the Soviet Union and served as an experimental ship under the name Buran and as a depot ship under the name Dubna. She was scrapped between 1957 and 1958.

25 Feb 1945 The former German ship F7, now in Soviet service, was renamed Buran.
5 Nov 1945 Fleet escort ship F7 was transferred to the Soviet Union.
15 Feb 1946 Fleet escort ship F7 was assigned to the Soviet North Baltic Fleet.
2 Dec 1946 Buran was disarmed and reclassified an experimental ship.
24 Apr 1947 Buran ceased her role as an experimental ship.
7 May 1951 Buran was reclassified as a depot ship and was renamed Dubna. She was attached to the North Atlantic Fleet.
24 Dec 1955 Dubna was transferred to the Baltic Fleet.
