THE HISTORY OF STALNGRAD:
Founded as Tsaritsyn in 1589 it was a very important strategic settlement on the Volga.
After the October revolution of 1917, it was
renamed Stalingrad in 1925, by Stalin himself
what an ego!
This evil man had a city named after him and statues made in his likeness people had to hang his picture in their homes, childern even prayed to him as a God! even a electric lightbulb had his likeness in the glower, say people, I'm not making this up what else I'm sure there were other things named after him... even a car.
When Stalin died and his terror over Russia ended many things were to change during the Khrushchev era the city of Stalingrad was renamed Volgograd in 1961.
Another Russian city, named Leningrad has been renamed St. Petersburg. The siege of
Leningrad lasted from September 1941 to 1944
between 600,000 to 1,000,000 people died
we'll never really know how many died the siege lasted 900 days...

Before communist took control the Tzar around ww1 paid for one of the stalingrad factories by a American company. I wish the sewer system was mapped out over the city.

We'll have peace only after millions have died. And its the brave who die, the soldiers.
