Interesting photo of what could be one of two different types of turrets from salvaged French tanks, and used in fortifications along the Atlantic Wall.
My first guess, the turret is from a French
Hotchkiss H-35/39 light tank.
Second guess,could be a turret from a French
Renault R-35 both turrets were similar in design. Hundreds of both types of vehicles were captured by the Germans during the French campaign of 1940. Refurbished and used
for security duties, others were salvaged and
modified into anti-tank guns, while others were used as gun implacements.
