FOREIGN WEAPONS:
Good photograph of a Auf Panzerkampwagon, this
self-propelled gun mounted a Czech(Skoda)4.7cm 47mm Model 1936 Pak(t)antitank gun. The weapon was based on the French Renault R-35 tank, the turret was removed and a new superstructure build for the anti-tank gun.
Large numbers of these tanks fell into German hands after the fall of France in 1940. They were used by the Germans for security duties, training and modified into self-propelled guns. The R-35 turrets were used as gun emplacements for coastal defense.
