THE SOUTH AMERICAN CONNECTION:
The US supplied B-25 Mitchell bombers during WWII and after the war, to friendly South American Governments some of those aircraft were in service into the late 1970s
Brazil: received B-25s from the US during WWII and into the post-war period operated them into the 60s and 70s operated early jet aircraft.
Venezula: Operated them into the 1970s as well. Operated early jet aircraft.
Urugary: Operated a mix of WWII supplied fighters and bombers last were retired in the 70s operated early jet aircraft.
Peru: Operated WWII aircraft retired in the 60s and 70s operated early jet aircraft.
Chile: Operated a mix of WWII fighters and bombers and early jet aircraft.
Cuba: Operated a mix of B-25 and B-26 bombers
and other prop driven fighters and early types of jet aircraft.
Mexico: Operated WWII aircraft fighters and bombers into the 60s and 70s

Many personnel and aircraft of the 34th Bombardment Squadron, but not this one, participated in the Doolittle Raid.
