Charles, What was your Uncle's name and position aboard the SeaTrain Texas? I suppose most of the crew are dead. I was 17 when I joined.

I writing this email in hopes to finding surviving WWII vets who were staitioned on board the SS Seatrain Texas. I have been lucky enough to be paired with a WWII vet for Honor Flights to DC on September 19, who was staitioned on SS Seatrain Texas. My vets name is FirstClass Gunnermate Joseph Martins. I hope im not to late in sending this. Would be an honor to meet others how served on this very ship.

I was a navy gunner, armed guard aboard the sea train texas 13 july 1944 I Joined the texas october 1943. the locomotives we delivered were 72 ton norrow gauge to run on the european tracks. we ran from cardiff, whales to cherbourgh from 6 june 1944 to december 1944 supplying locomotives. I have many memories of the texas, i would be glad to share them with you - jim rogers
