Kuznetsov was a common name among Soviet Generals. Colonel-General Vasily Kuznetsov should not be confused with Colonel-General Fedor Kuznetsov, Head of the General Staff Military Intelligence (not the GRU as suggested by Max Hastings in his book 'The Secret War' whose Director after November 42 was Ivan Ilyiekev).
