It is a shame that General Eichelberger is not as well known today compared to the American Generals who fought in Europe. Eichelberger was a brilliant tactician and trainer. He was probably more able than General Krueger, MacArthurs other major field commander. However, he was overshadowed by the titanic presence of General MacArthur.
