Admiral Wright was the commander of the Twelfth Naval District (San Francisco) and was also the one who spoke to an assembly of the accused sailors prior to the court martial proceedings threatening the “mutineers” with a firing squad if they didn’t turn to and begin loading munitions. After the verdicts were appealed to the Secretary of the Navy, Wright was ordered to reconvene the court martial against the 50 and on 12 Jun 1945, each of the mutiny convictions were reaffirmed.
