My father was in the 769th Bomb Squadron. Parachute rigger and tail gunner. At one time I had pictures of all the 462nd bomb group and a few of the 468th. My father destroyed most of them. I don't remember this one.

Dear Joseph Brown, My dad watched Franklin go down in the ocean that day. He never got over it. They could not get Maj. Slack to let those men bail out of that plane. He keep on telling them over the radio he could make it to the China coast. He had two engines shot out and the other two smoking. He finally got to low in altitude to bail and went into the ocean. Major John Stewart Slack was wearing a parachute my dad packed for him. one of my dad's parachutes saved a waist gunner on Rush Order over the Himalayas when his blister blew out

My Father, 1st Lt Lloyd Stanley Strong was a B29 pilot on Tinian in 1945. He was in the 462nd Bomb Group, 769th Squadron. His Aircraft had unique nose art. I have been looking for a picture of his aircraft for years. Please let me know if you have an aircraft from his bomb group, squadron, that has a picture of a Japanese soldier wrapped around the barrel of a machine gun with the words “don’t worry about a thing” under the picture. Any help in this endeavor will be much appreciated.
