Ensign Sakamaki's midget submarine HA-19,has
been on display at the Adm.Chester A. Nimitz
National Museum of the Pacific War since 1991
located in Fredericksburg,Texas U.S.A.
It is one of only four Type A subs on display
in the world.

After World War II Sakamaki returned to Japan
he worked for the Toyoda Motor Corp. Sent to
South America where he became President of Toyoda's Brazilian subsidiary in 1969.
He returned to Japan in 1983 and continued to
work until he retired in 1987. He died in 1999 at age 81.
During World War II, Sakamaki's sub,that was
captured intact,was taken on tours across the
U.S.A. encouraging the buying of war bonds.

Photos 1 through 6 are of Ens. Kazuo Sakamaki's midget submarine, Sakamaki became Prisoner of War # 1 during the Pacific War. His boat ran aground off Oahu Dec. 8, 1941 his enlisted crewman drowned in the surf.
A midget submarine is on display today, at the Etajima Navy Museum, Japan as a memorial.
